Hathor Dance Theatre cast members are all highly professional and skilled dancers and need to undergo rigorous assessment and continuous training to qualify as a HDT troupe member, audition to the company is by invitation only. You can see members of H.D.T in action at various Lebanese and Persian Restaurants around Sydney. HDT dancers are clothed in hand-made, original designer outfits directly imported from Egypt. Between them, the dancers, all in their twenties, have nearly sixty years of combined formal dance training and experience.

Jrisi (Pricipal dancer and choreographer) travels throughout the world each year, working directly with master instructors across the globe to ensure HDT continues to lead the way in Australia's small and vibrant oriental dance community.

Our dance props include single and double veils, finger cymbals, canes, single and double sword dance and balancing, shamadan (candelabra balance) flying gypsy skirts and fire twirling set to professionally mixed music. Depending on your needs, we have in our music archive, classical and contemporary Arabic, Turkish or Greek and Fusion-World tunes to choose from, plus a network of musicians from Middle-Eastern to World Music, should a live band and/or singer be required.

Our shows are fully choreographed and involve audience participation if you so require. We also specialise in Fusion dance in Indian Bollywood, Flamenco, Latin and Jazz. Shows can be custom made according to your requirements and can range from solo cabaret performances to duets, trios and troupe performances.

We can also offer you and your guests a mini dance class after our performance, this is popular at Hen's nights, Xmas functions and much more.
