Oriental Dance Program 2012

The 8th Annual Summer Intensive Oriental Dance Program 2012

is a perfect way to start the year.

This program has been designed to give students a "taster" on the many styles of Oriental Dance, it also includes full 'ready for stage' choreographies, notes and the unique experience to work with Live Arabic and World Music Artists.

Why not get fit and have fun during the summer, you will shimmy away those extra "festive" holiday kilos!

Each class will focus on different elements of Oriental and Folkloric Dance. Participants also receive a certificate on completion.

Past workshop choreographies have been performed at many haflas, festival and theatre shows.

A perfect program for students wishing to experience Jrisi's classes and who cannot make her regular yearly term classes.

"Talking in Rhythms"

with Jrisi and Jamal

Middle Eastern Rhythms come in so many variations that you can virtually put together a whole show with yourself and a couple of percussionists. What you need to know is what they are called so that even with a language barrier you can speak in rhythms to choreograph and ad-lib.

Master teacher Jrisi and master drummer Jamal will take you through the basic as well as more complex rhythms and the nuances that identify them.

A must for all performers and teachers. As the price of workshops is the same whether you dance or not, this one is open to all levels, the information is invaluable.

TRIBAL AND TRANCE FESTIVAL 2012

12-14TH OCTOBER 2010

Jrisi has be yet again been invited back to teach and perform

at the bi-annual Tribal and Trance Festival.

She has taught and performed at the festival since it's iception

and is the only Oriental Dance Artist to be involved.

Jrisi will be teaching

"1,2,3 Choreography and Ideas"

A workshop based on Jrisi's Contemporary Dance training

looking into stage persona, staging, space and their meaning.

Participants will walk away with lots of imaginativeways in

creating combinations.

The workshop will end with joining the combos together

and creating a ready for stage MASTERPIECE!

Guest teaching in your bellydance school

Have Jrisi come out for one day of workshops to give your students and extra look into Oriental Dance. Two 2hour workshops followed by a mini  lecture of Jrisi's experiences, Q's and A's on life as a professional dancer in Sydney, some of Jrisi's footage of International dancers on DVD. Workshop topics can vary from International dance teachers repertoire and Jrisi's own repertoire. Construct your own workshop based on your students needs.
